Mũmbi wa Mũgo is a Technology Consultant with a leading global professional services firm, where she has dedicated 18 years to advising organizations on complex technology-enabled transformations.

Prior to returning to the United States in 2001, Mũmbi served as a Technical Advisor with the World Health Organization (WHO) and subsequently with Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV), a Swiss foundation incubated within the WHO.  In these roles, she supported global health initiatives focused on malaria research and equitable access to medicines.

A self-described child of the Pan‑African world, Mũmbi has long engaged in work situated at the nexus of technology, global systems, and social justice. Over the past decade, she co-managed a not‑for‑profit organization alongside her late mother, Professor Mĩcere Gĩthae Mũgo, established in honor of her late younger sister. She is now actively involved in building the Mĩcere Gĩthae Mũgo Foundation, an institution devoted to preserving and advancing her mother’s intellectual, cultural, and activist legacy.

Looking ahead, Mũmbi is resolutely committed to returning to the African continent of her birth to contribute to its sustained economic growth and advancement.
