Livingstone Mukasa

With training in architecture, Livingstone Mukasa is an artist, writer, and curator interested in the intersection between Pan-African architectural history, cultural anthropology, and diasporic material heritage. He is co-editor and co-author of Architectural Guide Sub-Saharan Africa (DOM, 2021), a comprehensive seven-volume work documenting the architectural landscapes of all 49 Sub-Saharan nations with insights from over 300 global contributors; and Theorizing Architecture in Sub-Saharan Africa: Perspectives, Questions, and Concepts (DOM, 2021), a heterogenous collection of 49 essays from esteemed architects and scholars, challenging prevailing narratives and cultivating new frameworks for understanding Pan-African architectures. He is a dynamic executive leader with experience across the private, non-profit and public sectors. Through his work, he continues to champion meaningful dialogue on the cultural and intellectual landscapes shaping African identities in the global context.
