Livingstone Mukasa serves as the Interim Director of the Mĩcere Gĩthae Mũgo Foundation. An architect by training, his previous work explores the intersections of (Pan)African architecture, cultural memory, and diasporic heritage.
With professional experience spanning architectural design, sustainable development consulting, e-commerce startups, and real estate development. Livingstone is also the co-editor of two landmark volumes—Architectural Guide Sub-Saharan Africa (DOM, 2021) and Theorising Architecture in Sub-Saharan Africa (DOM, 2021). In 2022 he was selected to curate a Pan African collective architecture exhibition for a collateral event of the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale.
A figurative artist and seasoned public speaker, he has been featured internationally and has lectured widely on topics of design justice, cultural stewardship, and Afrocentric built environments. His work has supported by the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts and the Joseph and Anni Albers Foundation.
Livingstone serves on the Board of Trustees for WMHT Public Media, and brings interdisciplinary vision to every initiative, committed to building institutions and spaces that are ethically grounded, historically aware, and future-facing.
